Use of the N-word racial slur increased threefold on Twitter during the first week after Elon Musk's takeover of the social media site, despite assurances it had reduced hateful activity on its platform, an explosive new study revealed.Īn investigation by the nonprofit U.K.-based Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) found the use of racist, homophobic, transphobic, and anti-Semitic slurs soared significantly after Musk took over Twitter on October 27, Newsweek and the Associated Press reported.

Elon Musk claimed in a November 4 tweet that 'hateful speech' had fallen under his October 27 takeover of the social media platform. Those figures represent increases of 23%, 62%, and 77% respectively compared to the previous average for 2022.The explosive study revealed anti-Semitic slur 'k* ', and racist terms 'w' and 's***' - appeared in 2,598, 1,256, and 935 retweets on Twitter since Elon Musk's takeover. An investigation from the nonprofit UK-based Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH) found the use of racist, homophobic, transphobic, and anti-Semitic slurs soared significantly after Musk bought Twitter, AP and Newsweek reported.Soon, soon we will catch up to Jing and Dan's collection.Twitter has seen the use of the n-word TRIPLE since Elon Musk took over Since playing this game, our order of the Rook City/Infernal Relics and Vengeance expansions have come in, inching us towards total Sentinels acquisition. For now Unity is my favourite Sentinels character and I’m planning to buy her mini expansion ASAP. Luckily, Setback kept redirecting the lowest hit point target damage to himself so that the Raptor Bots didn't have to die.Īll in all, it was a rather lengthy game, but not an unpleasant one. She got three Raptor Bots out, each of which did X=number of bots damage automatically, and several other bots to boot. But in the end, Unity was the one to do the most damage and finish off La Capitan. Her Tiny power for X=link cards damage was also good. Unity ended up with seven or eight bots out by the end of the game because neither villain nor environment were destroying them much and Sky-Scraper made good use of an ongoing card which gave her extra benefits when she changed size. The hero player order was Setback, Argent Adept, Unity and then Sky-Scraper. Toby is presiding over the game from his box Here is our game set up at the end, as Unity's bits landed the final blows. I was assuming it was along the lines of existing while super/human.)

(Actually, I have no idea what they were on trial for. Luckily, none of our heroes were on trial for rape, though. The Celestial Tribunal also reminded me of a storyline in Dan Slott’s run of She-Hulk, which added to my amusement. The Tribunal looked concerning at first but turned out to not hinder us too much, especially since we were able to put a Legacy variant on trial that then destroyed the trial card. Both turned out to be… interesting choices. I chose La Capitan for the villain because I had just read her bio and she sounded cool as a character and somewhat randomly we grabbed the Sentinels of the Multiverse: The Celestial Tribunal Environment as the location (OK, mainly because it sounded spacey and I’m an astronomer). A bit of detective work tells us Argent Adept was the Prime Wardens variant and Unity was the Termi-Nation variant. I think Sky-Scraper was the Extremist variant, and Setback was the Dark Watch version. I had written down which variants we used, but the iOS BGG app is absolute rubbish and wouldn’t save my play today, so that information was lost when I had to redo it through the website. For all the heroes we chose a non-standard (foil) variant for the character card since those are also something we won’t get to try again for a while (well, aside from future plays at Jing’s and Dan’s, I mean). Finally, Lewis chose Setback because his luck powers seemed interesting (and amusing, from the bio) and because he seemed relatively straight-forward to play.

Lewis chose the Argent Adept because he wanted to try him out and I chose Sky-Scraper because she seemed cool and I wanted to see how the three size options played. Here is Catsky “helping” us play Sentinels when we were set up on the floorįirst off I chose Sentinels of the Multiverse: Unity Hero Character because I knew it would be a little while before we could get her mini-expansion and from what I’d read she seemed cool (spoiler: she was).
